In science we have been diving deep into categorizing and changing the physical properties of matter. After reading the story, Henri's Scissors, we gave changing the physical properties of matter a try, cutting, coloring and folding paper into new shapes.
Below: Highlight of our week exploring changing the physical properties of matter was making playdough. We combined flour, oil and food coloring together to make playdough talking about how it's texture and color changed from the beginning when it was just flour to the end where it was squishy, pink, playdough.
Below: Students worked together to sort and categorize shapes and decided how they would represent them using a graph they made.
Below: We incorporated math and technology into our math lesson. Each student looked at slides of graphs on their computer in Google Classroom and gave their input on how the graphs should look/what information is missing. This is the first time I've used Google Classroom in the classroom and both I and the students are loving it!
My students have blown me away with their kindness for each other. They love writing affirmations and cheering for each other when one of their classmates gets recognized. Below, Khloe, was praised on the morning news for going out of her way to encourage her classmates to do their best.
